First, In order to become a certified welder, you must complete high school until at least the tenth grade, which will allow you to gain admission into a welding apprenticeship. It is preferred however, that you have a high school diploma.

Next you will need to find a welding school, which is typically a trade school, community college or university that offers welding training. Although you can still become a welder without training, it is becoming harder as more entrants are taking welding classes.
